Terms And Conditions

Prices

Prices and offers displayed on our website may update from time to time. If the Canterbury punting tour you have booked fluctuates in price, you will not be affected. There will be no refunds, and you will not be asked to pay extra.

Transfers

Your bookings may be transferred to another person. For shared punting tour tickets, you can simply give your ticket to someone else and they can enjoy the ride. For private punting tours, just get in touch to inform us of the name change. Call 01223 430 049 or email ashley@scholarspuntingcambridge.co.uk.

What's included?

Your ticket(s) are for a guided punt tour with one of our professional chauffeurs, and the experience will be specific to the type of tour you have booked. Please read the details of our various Canterbury punting tour options to see exactly what to expect, and contact us if you have any questions.

Our punts

Our bespoke, 12-seater punts come complete with cushions, lumbar supports and blankets. Umbrellas and hot water bottles are available for adverse weather conditions.

Opening hours

We are open from February to 31st December, operating from 9.30am to dusk, so long as weather and river conditions allow.

Unexpected closures

Sometimes, we will be forced to close if there is a risk to the health and safety of our customers and staff, i.e. extreme weather conditions. In the event of this happening, we will contact all bookings at the earliest opportunity and those affected will be entitled to either a full refund or a rebooking for another date.

Safety

Our boats are robust and are designed in such a way that capsizing is extremely unlikely. You must follow the guidance of your chauffeur during the tour, as they are trained in health and safety best practice. Life jackets are available upon request, and you must not smoke on the punts or moorings.

Accessibility

Wheelchair access is not possible due to the traditional design of our punts. Our friendly team can help passengers with limited mobility to board and disembark. For further information, please read our accessibility statement.

Children

At all times, children must be accompanied by adults. Please ensure that children keep their hands inside the boat at all times to avoid injury. Children always count toward our maximum passenger total of 12, no matter how small they may be.

Dogs

We welcome dogs aboard our tours - it’s a great day out with your furry friend. If you’re planning on joining a shared tour, the other passengers will have to give their consent to your pooch hopping aboard. Private tours are ideal for bringing your dog along.

Withdrawal of service

In the unlikely event we will have to withdraw a service, we will notify you in advance with alternative options or to offer a refund.

Complaints

If you’re not happy with any aspect of our service, please let a member of our team know so we can make every effort to make amends and resolve the issue on the day. Alternatively, please get in touch to let us know your concerns.

Liability

We have full insurance cover for our business operations. Please note that to the extent permitted by law, our team shall not be liable for any claims, losses, damages or injuries, sustained or incurred on the experience including on the moorings.

Refunds

Shared tour tickets are non-refundable, unless we close unexpectedly on the day you want to redeem it. They are usually valid for six months, so you can use your ticket on any date within the validity period. If your ticket has expired, we’re afraid you will not be able to use it.

For private tours, if you do not turn up within 15 minutes of the tour start time without notifying us, we’ll count this as a ‘no show’ forfeit and your ticket will not be refundable.

Private tour cancellations

Bookings for private tours will have to be cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled start time to qualify for a refund. If cancelling with 24 hours notice, we will offer a 50% refund. There is no partial refund available for on the day cancellations, although we may be able to reschedule your tour for another day.

Rescheduling

You can make changes, additions and reschedule your tour (depending on availability) up to 24 hours in advance of the scheduled start time. If rescheduling with less than 24 hours notice, we’ll have to charge a £50 fee.

Bad weather policy

If you’re not keen to take a tour on a day that we’re open, our standard cancellations and rescheduling policy applies.
